We now return our souls to the creator,|
as we stand on the edge of eternal darkness.
Let our chant fill the void in order that others may know.
In the land of the night
the ship of the sun is drawn by the grateful dead.
Up the stairs is the main street of Phinney's Place.
Near the door is an old desk with a terminal displaying the blue screen
of death and a note saying "Don't step in the Microsoft".
Nearby is a fading list of Dale's tapes on a pile of used mailers.
Yellow stickies with URL's are all over the place. Here's one for etree's
Live Music Archive
lying next to an autograph of
Jimmy Ray Thudpucker. On a table at the end of the room is a listing
of David Dodd's annotated Grateful Dead
Laying nearby is a copy of Hunter's "A Box of Rain". There's a stack of
paper Almanacs ... and a
pile of old Relix.
Hanging on the wall is the Dead's
letter about Deer
Creek that Dale picked up at Riverport ... and an unused
ticket dated 7/3/95.
But then, there's the used
from the reunion shows.

... Such a long long time to be gone, And a short time to be there.
Thank you ... for a real good time
